Dating from 1982 these speakers made in Japan by Sansui are big, both in looks and sound. They stand 720mm high, and are a four way system rated to handle up to 105 watts per speaker.Bottom end in the big ported enclosures is handled by 12 inch woofer, mids (crossed over at 2000Hz) are via a 4.5 inch driver, and highs (crossed over at 8kHz) are produced by a 2.5 inch tweeter behind a downward.

Things I note about these: Shiny surrounds for the mid and tweet, and the tweeter one is shaped to look like a fake foil tweeter, concealing a ho-hum cone tweeter. Wood look Vinyl covering. 29 lb.not very heavy for a 12" speaker.

I listen to classic rock (lp's, cd's and reel to reel) to jazz and they sound good at the high end, middle and the bass is good. They sound good at low volume as well as high volume I was surprised after all the negative talk I hear about Sansui speakers. They have a 12" woofer, a 4" midrange, and a 3 inch tweeter. The max input is 130 watts.

They seem interesting because they're 4 way speakers, but I've also heard it's better to stay with 2 way, or 3 way speakers for a stereo system. So I thought I'd better ask here. All I know is the "C" in the model name means they were made in Canada, probably in the 80's. I would hook them to a NAD Series 20 model 3020, looking to improve over.
